Thanks to their low mass they are particularly suited for applications where high vibrational loads occur.<\/p>\n<p>Typical fields of application are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>turbochargers<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>jet engines<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>gas turbines in the power plant sector<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The strain gages consist of a micro wire mesh of a diameter of a few micrometers. This mesh is embedded into a ceramic layer in a multistage process, which is applied onto the surface of the object to be measured.
